Rare News Gets First Stakes Winner

ST. IGNATIUS, MT—AUGUST 14, 2009—Rare News sired his first stakes winner when Little Love Affair won the August 7 North Dakota Bred Futurity (R).

Racing for James Fleming, Little Love Affair scored 1 ˝ length victory in the 350-yard race. A winner of four of five starts, Little Love Affair has earned $10,720.

Rare News is a 10-year-old son of all-time leading sire of money earners First Down Dash out of the Magical Mile (TB) mare Shiney Miles. A wining multiple grade 1 finalist in the Kindergarten Futurity(G1) and Governor's Cup Futurity(G1), he earned $43,758.

From three crops, Rare News has sired earners in excess of $55,000 with eight winners from 16 starters.
