Grade 1 Winner Duponte To James Ranch In 2018

WAYNE, OK—NOVEMBER 28, 2017—Bobby D. Cox, Homero and Kristen Paredes grade 1 winner Duponte SI 96 will stand his first season in 2018 at James Ranch near Wayne, Oklahoma. His fee has been set at $3,500 with consideration to stakes mares and stakes producers.

Duponte won or placed in 10 of 16 career starts and earned $921,237. He won the Grade 1 Heritage Place Futurity and Harrah's Entertainment Futurity(G3) at 2 and was second in the Dash For Cash Futurity(G2).

As a 3-year-old Duponte was third in the All American Derby(G1) and a finalist in the Rainbow Derby(G1), Texas Classic Derby(G1) and Heritage Place Derby(G1).

His sire is the two-time AQHA Racing Champion American Runaway SI 103 ($686,355), who died suddenly following his first season at stud. From limited starters in only three crops to race he is the sire of 30 winners, 3 stakes winners with earnings of $1.8 million including Duponte SI 96 (see above), Grade 2 winner Careless Lightning SI 103 ($166,193), stakes winner Katharsis SI 98 ($127,622 to 3, 2017), Evangeline Downs Futurity runner-up Accountably SI 93 ($80,584), etc.

A home bred for Bobby D. Cox, Duponte is the first foal of the Ivory James mare Havannah Goodtime. She is dam of 2 Grade 1 winners from only two starters including 2017 Heritage Place Futurity(G1) winner Nymeria SI 92 (2 wins at 2, $495,042).

The second dam Jess Celebrating by leading broodmare sire Mr Jess Perry is a half-sister to AQHA Racing Champion Brimmerton Si 103 ($519,538), Grade 1 winner Gone Celebrating SI 109 ($364,068), stakes winner Mitford SI 109 ($121,514), etc.

The third dam is the Grade 2 winner and former Broodmare of the Year Fitting Celebration SI 110 ($47,775) by Ronas Ryon. She is the dam of 10 winners, four stakes horses (see above).
