GUTHRIE, OK—MAY 30, 2017—Third crop sire Cartels Candy Man SI 96 got his first stakes winner on Monday when 2-year-old PV Queen Be Candy won the $61,800 FL Lady Bug Stakes at Remington Park.
Ridden by jockey Daniel Torres, PV Queen Bee Candy recovered from an early bump to win the FL Lady Bug by three-quarters of a length. Her :16.720 clocking for the 330 yards equaled a 91-speed index at Remington Park.
Clinton Crawford conditions the homebred for owner/breeder Gordon Pevehouse. It was the second win in three starts for the filly out of Ima Lazie Too by Okey Dokey Dale. The $34,080 winners' purse boosted her career total to $46,602.

Also on Sunday the 3-year-old Cartels Candy Man daughter Live To Love Candy SI 102 finished second in the Dash For Speed Stakes (not black type) at Arapahoe Park.
