Little Pyc Is Retired From Racing, Arrives at JEHERS

WHITESBORO, TX—OCTOBER 29, 2014—Buddy Albin's stakes-placed Little Pyc has been retired from racing and arrived this week at JEH Equine Reproduction Specialists near Whitesboro, Texas in preparation for his first year at stud. The double-registered AQHA/APHA stallion will stand for a fee of $650.

Albin has announced he will pay a $2,500 Bonus to the breeder of the first stakes winner in the first crop by the son of leading sire Pyc Paint Your Wagon.

Little Pyc won or placed in five of 13 starts, earning $40,285. He was third in the $133,525 Northlands Futurity at Canterbury Park and was a finalist in the $100,000 Remington Park Juvenile Invitational and $52,000 Canterbury Park Derby.

His sire Pyc Paint Your Wagon, who is the leading sire of 2014 money earners, has been among the leading sires of money earners each year and is the sire of 63 stakes winners and earners of $16.5 million from only five crops to race.

Little Pyc's dam is the APHA Champion Aged Mare, Mini Melt SI 93 ($36,507), a finalist in the Grade 1 Olympia Joe Handicap. A daughter of First To Flash, she is also the dam of 2-year-old winner Ba Little Mini ($14,994), a full sibling to Little Pyc.

Mini Melt's sire First To Flash is also the sire of last year's leading first crop sire First Moonflash, who has sired both an All American Futurity(G1) winner and All American Derby(G1) winner in only two crops to race.

The second dam is a half-sister to Grade 1 Ruidoso Futurity winner Meltdown SI 98 ($247,855) and the third dam is a half-sister to Lafayette Futurity winner Alapass SI 101 ($110,385), etc. This is also the family of G3-placed Madam Cartel SI 95 ($23,214), stakes-placed Traffic Reporter SI 92 ($15,437), My Cold Corona SI 97, etc.
