Remington Park Futurity Winner Coronado Cartel to Lazy E Ranch in 2015

GUTHRIE, OK—SEPTEMBER 25, 2014—Reliance Ranches, LLC's Remington Park Futurity winner Coronado Cartel SI 96 will stand the 2015 season at Lazy E Ranch near Guthrie, Oklahoma.

The son of leading living sire of money earners Corona Cartel is currently in Southern California preparing for the Los Alamitos Super Derby(G1) trials next month. His fee will be announced following his retirement from racing.

Trained by Eddie D. Willis and ridden by Jimmy Brooks, Coronado Cartel has won or placed in nine of 11 career starts while banking $415,727. The multiple stakes winner also won the Mr Jess Perry Stakes at Ruidoso Downs over the summer and was second in the Mr Master Bug Handicap. He was also a finalist to the Texas Classic Futurity(G1) and Sooner State Stakes(G1).

Coronado Cartel is out of the Grade 1 Heritage Place Futurity winner First Carolina SI 106, by Mr Jess Perry. She also won the Remington Park Derby(G2) and was a finalist in the Texas Classic Derby(G1) and Heritage Place Derby(G2). The dam of 100% ROM from seven starters, First Carolina is the dam of Rainbow Futurity(G1) winner Ms First Prize Rose SI 101 ($546,985 to 3, 2014), Rainbow Juvenile Invitational winner Denver Pass SI 96 $120,994 at 2) and Firecracker Futurity(G2) runner-up Itea SI 101 ($63,141), all full siblings to Coronado Cartel. She has also produced four six-figure summer sale yearlings, including the 2012 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale topper.

The second dam is former Broodmare of the Year First Prize Dash SI 101, by Dash For Cash, a sister to all-time leading sire world champion First Down Dash SI 105 ($857,256). Dam of 29 ROM, six stakes winners and four stakes-placed winners, she is the dam of Remington Park Futurity(G1) winner First Prize Leesa SI 106 ($488,270); Remington Park Futurity(G1) winner First Prize Robin SI 103 ($295,147); Texas Classic Futurity(G1) runner-up and multiple stakes sire First Prize Perry SI 102 ($243,946); First Prize Fancy, unraced dam of 2014 Remington Park Futurity winner Im A Fancy Pyc (5 wins in 6 starts at 2, $454,765).
