HOUSTON, TX—APRIL 19, 2014—AQHA Racing Champion 2-Year-Old Colt Tempting Dash sired his first stakes winner Saturday night when Kiss My Hocks won the $563,950 Grade 2 Sam Houston Futurity at Sam Houston Race Park.
Kiss My Hocks, who set a Sam Houston Race Park 330 yard track record in the trials, broke on top and pulled away from the field to pickup the winner's purse of $225,580 for owner Tyler Graham ad John Mayers. Tempting Dash also got two stakes-placed runners over the weekend. On Saturday night Lovethewayoulie finished second in the $50,000 Sam Houston Juvenile Invitational Stakes and on Sunday A Dashing Valentine was third in the $100,000 Remington Park Juvenile Invitational.
From a limited number of starters in two crops to race, Tempting Dash has sired nine winners, 1 stakes winner, 2 stakes-placed with earnings of $362,350 and average earnings per starter of $12,495. The 7-year-old stallion moves to the top of the second crop leading sires of money earners list.
Owned by Simmons Racing, the undefeated son of all-time leading sire First Down Dash won four-of-four starts at 2 including the Texas Classic Futurity(G1) and Dash For Cash Futurity(G1). He earned $673,970.
Tempting Dash is out of former Broodmare of the Year stakes-placed A A Tempting Chick SI 99 ($36,953), by Chicks Beduino. She is the dam of 8 ROM including Grade 1 winner A Tempting Dash SI 104 ($541,959), G2 finalist Natalie Dash SI 91 ($52,681), etc.
