BREAUX BRIDGE, LA—MAY 25, 2013—Multiple RG1 stakes winner and second crop sire Jet Black Patriot sired his first stakes winner Friday when Dashing Jet Rio won the RG2 $246,142 Louisiana Lassie Futurity at Delta Downs.
Under jockey Jesse Chavis, Dashing Jet Rio scored her second win in as many starts and picked up the $123,071 winner's purse for owner Douglas O. Traylor. Dashing Jet Rio, who is conditioned by Kenneth L. Roberts, Sr., covered the distance over a fast track in a time of 16.547. The clocking represented a speed index of 96. WA Bruce Susan Karen Darling bred the sorrel filly from the Mr Jess Perry mare Dashing Obsession.

Owned by Donald Plains, Sr., the son of leading sire Game Patriot won seven of nine starts at 2, earning $876,921. He won the LQHBA Futurity(RG1), Lee Berwick Memorial Futurity(RG1), Mardi Gras Futurity(RG2) and was second in the Grade 1 All American Futurity and a finalist in the Grade 1 Southwest Juvenile Championship.
Jet Black Patriot is out of the multiple stakes producing First Down Jewel mare First Down Hemp, dam of 9 ROM including full siblings Hez Jet Black SI 99 (4 wins, $45,119, 2nd Louisiana Juvenile S., 3rd in the Mardi Gras Futurity(RG2), etc.), Jet Black Legend SI96 (3 wins at 2, 2012, $45,119, 2nd Old South Futurity) and Redhot Patriot Jet SI 96 (2 wins to 3, 2012 $42,672), etc. The second dam is a stakes producing daughter of Hemp Meyers.
