SEGUIN, TX—MAY 13, 2013—Haddad Ranch announced today their multiple Grade 2 winner The Louisiana Cartel has booked full for the 2013 season.
"The Louisiana Cartel bred another great book of mares this season," Jorge Haddad said. "We would like to thank everyone who supported him."
The Louisiana Cartel won or placed in eight of 10 career starts while earning $127,941 at 3 and 4. He won the Sam Houston Challenge Championship(G2), Sam Houston Classic Stakes(G2) and was third in the Firecracker Derby. He was also a finalist in the Remington Park Invitational Championship(G1) and the Delta Championship Challenge(G3).
A son of leading sire Corona Cartel, he is out of the G2 placed Louisiana Slew (TB) mare The Louisiana Girl ($30,569). The Louisiana Cartel is a half-brother to Champion and multiple Grade 1 sire Jess Louisiana Blue ($170,682), Grade 2 winner Louisiana Eye Opener ($151,254), Grade 2 winner Jessthelouisianagirl ($122,904), Grade 3 winner Fed Ex Together ($112,864), stakes winner Call Me Fed Ex ($80,437) and Texas Challenge Championship(G1) runner-up Jess Got Bayou ($46,496).
The second dam is the two-time AQHA Racing champion mare Little Blue Sheep ($389,355), dam of two stakes winners. She is a sister to Kansas Futurity winner Miss Angel Eyes ($109,101), Debutante Handicap winner Takeme Freely ($68,9349), etc.
