COOLIDGE, AZ—SEPTEMBER 4, 2012—Ralph and Carolyn Fales have purchased the stakes winner and G2 placed Texas Icon from owner/breeder Jerry Windham and will stand him at their farm, Fales Ranch, near Coolidge, Arizona next season. His fee has been set at $1,500.
The son of leading sire Corona Cartel won or placed in 12 of 18 career starts, earning $111,037. He won the Q-Racing Stakes, was second in the Heritage Place Derby(G2), Turf Paradise Juvenile Challenge and was third in the Evangeline Downs Derby-Div. 1 and Live Oak Handicap. He was also a finalist in the Dash For Cash Derby(D2), Sam Houston Derby(G2) and Manor Downs Juvenile Invitational.
The second dam is the multiple stakes producing Kiptydoo (TB) mare Kipty Kate, dam of stakes winner and Broodmare of the Year Illusive Princess who produced Los Alamitos Million Futurity(G1) and Golden State Futurity(G1) winner First Place Queen ($880,869). This is the immediate family of such stakes horses as Mr Queens Mystery ($599,381), Jazzy Sixes ($103,913), First Place Princess ($74,269), Katies Award ($73,793), Katies Sign ($63,119), etc.
