BOOSIER CITY, LA—MARCH 6, 2010—Christine Tavares' Sante Mon Amie picked up her second career victory in as many starts with a nose victory in the $249,273 Mardi Gras Futurity(RG2) at Louisiana Downs on Saturday.

Justin Haug saddled the Toast To Dash filly bred by Robert and Karen Nunnally. Ridden by Donald Watson, Sante Mon Amie covered the 300 yard course in :15.677 seconds to pick up the winner's check of $112,173.

Julien R. Stevens, Jr's home bred filly Sip Of Crown just missed at the wire. The Special Crown Royal filly is handled by Frank Cavazos and was ridden by Juan Luis Vazquez. She earned $42,377 for her effort.

Fast Dashing Jewel, a gelded son of Heza Fast Dash owned by Ponderosa Ranch PC, Inc., and MCM Farms was ½ length off the leaders. Saddled by Bobby Martinez and ridden by Saul Ramirez, Jr., Fast Dashing Jewel earned $23,928.

Completing the field were Unrealistic, Alysa M., Dyno Dashin and High N Mitey. Coupled race favorite Illusions Dream reared as the start and had to settle for last. Fastest qualifier Sheza Jess Love and Bye Bye Jellybean were scratched.

Mr Game Gets Big Win in Mardi Gras Derby

Four Men and A Partnership's Mr Game ran off to a 3 ¼ length victory in the $81,114 Mardi Gras Derby(RG2) on Saturday.

Scoring his third win nine career starts, the Game Patriot gelding pushed his career earnings to more than $88,000 with the $36,502 payday.

William Little saddled while Jarrod Deschamp was aboard for the :19.902 clocking over 400 yards.

Sheza Dash For Cash owned by Manual Alvarez was second earning $13,790. The Heza Fast Dash filly is trained by James Fuller and was ridden by Eleazar Guillen.

A nose back in third was Alabama To Durango for owner/breeder Manuel Alvarez. James Fuller handles the Alabama Schoolboy filly and had Bobby Ransom aboard.

Completing the field were Shorties Tall Boys, Jess Pop My Rocket, Game Show Special, Bbs Top Beduino, Ladys Magics, Ms McShine, Heza Gonna Dash and Best Be Onya Game. Jess Pop My Rocket was disqualified for interference and placed last.
