Wildroses 101 Rallies To Win $30,000 Wayne Brasher Memorial Stakes

Wildroses 101 Rallies To Win $30,000 Wayne Brasher Memorial Stakes

PHOENIX, AZ—NOVMEBER 19, 2022—Under jockey Martin Osuna, Wildroses 101 rallied to catch Turbulent Kisses by a head in the $30,000 Wayne Brasher Memorial Stakes at Turf Paradise Racetrack Saturday afternoon.

Saddled by trainer Ricardo Saldana, Wildroses 101 completed the 300 yards in :15.508 seconds, equaling a 98 speed index. It was the sixth career win for the 4-year-old son of Ja Jess Perfect.

Ferrari Racing Stables owns the Texas-bred out of Weed My Roses by Valiant Hero. A multiple stakes winner, Wildroses 101 earned $17,670 for today's win to push his earnings mark to $84,139. The Wayne Brasher was the third consecutive stakes victory for the brown gelding.

Bred by Bryon Gardner, Wildroses 101 won the Curtis/Kiekhefer Memorial Stakes at Arizona Downs September 5 and the La Gran Espectacular on April 23.

Runner-up Turbulent Kisses earned $5,700 for second. Aaron Belloc rode the multiple stakes-placed son of Turbulent Times for owner Francisco Ayon. Heraclio Botello trains the California bred out of Kisses Calientes by Toast To Dash. Jose De Jesus Ubario bred the earner of nearly $50,000.

Martha F. Wells owned-and-bred Old School Icon finished half-a-length back in thrid. Matthew Fales conditions the Texas Icon 5-year-old out of Cozie Fire by Walk Thru Fire. Third in the Southern California Derby(G3) at 3, Old School Icon earned $2,850 for the effort to bring his total earnings to $143,068.  He entered the Wayne Brasher off a win in the Blane Schvaneveldt Handicap at Los Alamitos on October 1.

Valentin Jqm, Fastrak Required, Thru My Eyes, First Lady Perry, Pcr Flashin The Cash, The Kids A Cowboy and Gangster Americano completed the field.
