CRM Livewire Sires 1-2-3 In Speedhorse P&A Futurity Championship-G1 With Zbars Livewire at the Helm

CRM Livewire Sires 1-2-3 In Speedhorse P&A Futurity Championship-G1 With Zbars Livewire at the Helm

CLAREMORE, OK–NOVEMBER 15, 2022–The last race of the day for Will Rogers Downs' meet wrap up was the third leg of Speedhorse's Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown Race Series. There may not have been a triple crown champion today, but CRM Livewire sired a triple finish with Zbars Livewire Fs, Salt Wire and Pfr Quickwire crossing the finish in a 1-2-3.

Post-time favorite Zbars Livewire Fs, piloted by Cody Smith, was crowned winner of the $43,433 Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity Championship-G1. The duo left the gates in fourth position but found their way to the front of the pack, making one final jump at the finish for a win by a nose. 

With a 10 mph crosswind, Zbars Livewire FS clocked an 87 speed index in :20.183 seconds in the 400 yard stakes race. This was the first career stakes win for the two-year-old colt and third attempt, including second place finishes in the Speedhorse P&A Futurity-G1 and APHA 79 & Under Speed Index Futurity earlier in the season.

Conditioned by the #2 all-time leading APHA trainer Matt Whitekiller, Zbars Livewire Fs has three career wins and the $16,504 winner's share of the futurity ups his lifetime earnings to $54,444. Bred and owned by Fred Ballard of Oklahoma, the juvenile colt is out of Zbar Miss Bully by Zbar Dash.

Runner-up Salt Wire, ridden by Agustin Silva, was in the lead from the start but was outnodded with a photo finish by a nose clocking an 87 speed index in :20.184 seconds. With three career wins and $35,971 in the bank, the Speedhorse P&A Futurity Championship is the fourth stakes race Salt Wire has competed in this year.

Bred by Kenneth Ruthardt of Oklahoma, Salt Wire is out of the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Fantastic Follies who is from the female family of AQHA world champion Wave Carver. Kasey Willis conditions the two-year-old gelding for owner Russell Trull.

Keeping a steady fifth from the star, Pfr Quickwire with Jesus Salazar in the irons, made his best strides late for a third place finish a 1/2-length behind Salt Wire. 

The multiple winner trained by #1 all-time leading sire Dee Keener  has competed in four stakes races this season earning $60,305 of owners Painted Faith Racing. Bred by Wendy Ingersoll of Oklahoma, Pfr Quickwire is out of the Country Quick Dash mare Quick Caydee.

Completing the order of finish is Jess Beachin, Zazas Island Girl, Domestic Dude, Rp Dirty Barracuda and Mighty Furrgee.
