LOS ALAMITOS, CA—NOVEMBER 5, 2022–Over the past 10 years, Dasha Freda is without a doubt one of the best broodmares in the Quarter Horse racing industry. Her foals have included the 2015 AQHA World Champion Heza Dasha Fire and the AQHA champion 2-year-old gelding Ima Fearless Hero.

Dasha Freda has also produced a tremendous number of other stakes winners and graded stakes finalists. This year alone, she’s the dam of PCQHRA Breeders Derby winner Sweet Dasha Fire and Grade 1 Los Alamitos Super Derby finalist Dasha Good Reason.

Dasha Freda is also the dam of Dasha Dynasty, who became a stakes winner after taking the $25,000 Town Policy Handicap against a field of 10 3-year-olds on Saturday night at Los Alamitos.

This is the second year in a row that one of Dasha Freda’s sons has won the Town Policy, as Just A Dasha Hero won the 2021 running. Dasha Dynasty’s victory in this year’s Town Policy was a beauty.

The Washington-bred colt by FDD Dynasty was bumped at the start, but he quickly recovered and started moving up on the leaders from the post number eight. At the midway point of the 400-yard race, he was within striking distance of the leader, Up The Ladder, and from there he continued his powerful late run on his way to a ¾ length victory.

"I thought he did a lot better job in this race than in his Super Derby trials," said Don Meneely of S-Quarter K LLC. "He broke about the same, but in the Super Derby trials he didn’t have that last 75-yard kick that’s been his go to. He really showed that tonight and pulled away from them. He came back sound from the trials and it’s nice to be able to bounce back from the trials and have the horse show that he’s the caliber to come back and win in a real nice time. That was good for all the connections and another notch for Dasha Freda."

S-Quarter K LLC own Dasha Freda and bred Dasha Dynasty. They share ownership of the horse with Robyn Gordon and Juan H. Moya. Trained by Jose Flores and ridden by Jesus Rios Ayala, Dasha Dynasty covered the 400 yards in :19.806. He earned $13,750 for the win to take his career earnings to $87,247. He’s won three of 12 career starts. S-Quarter K, Gordon and Bland Family Investments won the Town Policy last year with Justa Dasha Hero.

Ed Allred’s homebred Up The Ladder earned $5,625 for his runner-up effort in the Town Policy. A top two finisher in eight of 14 career starts, he’s earned a total of $62,680. Armando Cervantes piloted the Kiddy Up gelding for trainer Scott Willoughby.

Vic3tory LLC’s Favorite Cartel gelding Stuck In Probate finished a solid third for jockey Ruben Lozano and trainer Valentin Zamudio. Her earned $3,125 for the win to raise his career bankroll to $22,605.

Da Special One finished fourth and was followed by Amadeus Mv, Press Is My Hero, Apollitical J Streak, Conant Valley, Apollitical Eyeopener, and Insider Information.
