First Moonflash Sires 4th Stakes Winner Of The Day, First Lady On Canvas In NM Classic Futurity

First Moonflash Sires 4th Stakes Winner Of The Day, First Lady On Canvas In NM Classic Futurity

HOBBS, NM–OCTOBER 30, 2022–Champion sire First Moonflash sired all four quarter horse winners in Sundays Stakes Bonanza at Zia Park, including the latest victor First Lady On Canvas who won the $350,730 New Mexico Classic Futurity (RG2).

Piloted by AQHA champion jockey Esgar Ramirez, First Lady On Canvas flew from the nine hole in the lead and kept it to the wire. The duo clocked a 99 speed index in :17.507 seconds crossing the finish line 3/4-length ahead of Flash Divine and Noe Garcia, Jr. Rc Jessa Flashn made a steady bid for third with jockey Emilio Tapia in the irons. 

First Lady On Canvas has won her last three outs, breaking her maiden just last month at Lone Star Park. The $171,858 winner's share of the purse ups her bankroll to $187,443. With 11-4 odds at the post, her victory paid $9.80 to win.

Xavier Rodriguez saddled First Lady On Canvas for owner/breeder MRB Racing, LLC. The two-year-old filly is out of the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Paint On Canvas, who is a half-sister to two-time champion KVN Corona and a leading sophomore sire Big Lew.

Runner-up Flash Divine was saddled by Wesley Giles for owners/breeders Jimmy Negrete and Jimmy Vazquez. The son of First Moonflash has lit the board three out of four starts with $86,109 in the bank. He placed fourth in the New Mexico Breeders' Futurity (G3) at Sunland Park back in May.

Flash Divine is a half-brother to multiple stakes winners Cat Daddys Lil Girl and Ryansmanonthemoon. He is out of multiple stakes winner/producer Girlonthego by Man On The Move.

Conditioned by Martin Orona, Sr., Rc Jessa Flashn has earned $62,987 from nine starts. The NM Classic Futurity (G2) is the daughter of A Passion For Flashin's second time running in stakes competition, including the New Mexico State Fair Futurity (G2) last month.

Bred and owned by RC Racing, LLC, Rc Jessa Flashn's dam is the Mr Jess Perry mare Remember Me Jess, who is a a half-sister to AQHA Supreme Race Horse Powerful Favorite and out of the AQHA Dam of Distinction Remember Me Rose.

Competing the order of finish is Elisas Esperance, Flash Me The Price, Flecha Gris, Would Be You, Moon Jumpn Jessica, Ima Alertly and Mr Tres Effort. Dontmesswiththelady was scratched.
