GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—OCTOBER 28, 2022—Starting off a win in the $200,000 All American Juvenile in his last start, Rock A Jess V rolled to a two-length win and the top qualifying mark in the second of nine trials contested Friday night, the second day of trials, for the Grade 1 $1,209,172 Texas Classic Futurity at Lone Star Park.
Tonight's top five qualifiers will be joined by the Thursday's five fastest qualifier on Saturday, November 11th to vie for a $538,081 winners' purse in the 400 yard final.
Under jockey Juan Pulido, Rock A Jess V easily overpowered the field while clocking :19.596 seconds, a 98 speed index over a sloppy (sealed) racetrack with a 5 mph tailwind. The mark was the fastest for both nights of trials for the Texas Classic Futurity.

Conditioned by trainer Santos Carrizales, Jr., who ended the two nights of racing with four finalists into Texas richest horserace, Rock A Jess V races for owner-breeder Valeriano Racing Stables LLC.
The son of leading sire Apollitical Jess, from the Good Reason SA mare Rock Candy SA, has compiled a (8) 4-2-1 record this season and banked $137,741. He also won the Rainbow QH Juvenile at Ruidoso last July.
Carrizales and Paulido joined again in the opening trial with Turcotte to get the second fastest time of :19.655, a 96 speed index on a sloppy (sealed) surface with a 5 mph tailwind.

Owner Josefina Guzman picked up the Texas-bred colt from breeder Bobby D. Cox for $75,000 at the TQHA Yearling Sale. A finalist in the Grade 1 Heritage Place Futurity at Remington Park in May, Turcotte has earned $51,605.
Trainer John Stinebaugh sent out All American Futurity(G1) and Rainbow Futurity(G1) finalist Curls Joyful Wagon in the closing trial to get the third fastest time on Saturday. Jockey Francisco Calderon rode the Pyc Paint Your Wagon filly to a 2-1/2 length win in :19.672 seconds, a 96 speed index with a 10 mph tailwind on the sloppy (sealed) track.

The Oklahoma homebred, from the Spit Curl Jess mare Eye A Spit Curl Girl, races for owner-breeder Martin Stacy. She has earned $167,334 this season.
A Lucky Ladie, a $22,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate owned by Lucky Six Partnership, was a 1-1/2 length winner in the eighth trial to get the fourth fastest time of :19.676, also a 96 speed index with a 10 mph tailwind.
Michael Joiner conditions the daughter of champion sire Good Reason SA from the Apollitical Jess mare Political Nonsense. A finalist in the Rainbow Futurity(G1) last July, A Lucky Ladie has earned $39,700 this year. Jose Ortiz has the riding call.
Coming off a win in the Grade 2 Dash For Cash Futurity in her last start, October 1, La Feliz Montana Ranch LLC's One Perfect Lady posted the fifth fastest time of :19.672 seconds, another 96 speed index with a 10 mph tailwind, on Saturday. Jockey Francisco Calderon rode the New Mexico-bred filly to a half-length win in the sixth trial for trainer Rolando Almanza.
The daughter of the Corona Cartel stallion Bogart was bred by La Feliz Montana Ranch LLC and MRB Racing from the One Famous Eagle mare The Perfect Eagle. Also the winner of the John Deere Ruidoso Juvenile Challenge(G3), One Perfect Lady has won six of 10 starts and banked $236,507.

Live racing resumes tomorrow night (OCT 29 ) with nine more trials for the Texas Classic Futurity(G1). Gates open at 5 p.m. (CDT). Post time for the 10 race card on Saturday is 6:05 p.m. The trials will be run as races 6-10 beginning at approximately 8:25 p.m.
