Kp Dillon Prevails in Hadley-Giles Futurity at Weber Downs

OGDEN, UT—MAY 24, 2020—In an exciting finish, Kp Dillon and Vf Politically Red dueled to the wire in the $88,268 Hadley-Giles Futurity at Weber Downs on Sunday afternoon. Kp Dillon edged out his rival by a nose and .006 seconds to take the feature race of the card.

Riley Moosman could rest easy after the duo crossed the wire; he trained both horses involved in the photo finish.

Kp Dillon, ridden by Tyson Lusk, covered the 330 yards in 17.009 and earned a 98 speed index. The Glock gelding is owned and bred in Utah by Karl Peterson, out of the Maknmoves mare Bk Roxyamovin.

Kp Dillon won his trial and was the sixth fastest qualifier from ten trials on May 9. He is now a stakes winner, undefeated in two career starts, and has earnings of $36,057.

Vf Politically Red also earned a 98 speed index. The Apollitical Blood filly was ridden by Oscar Cervantes for owner Keith Nellesen. She was bred in Oklahoma by Victory Farms, out of Red Temptress, by Rolls of Romance.

Vf Politically Red, the tenth fastest qualifier, was second in her trial. The winner of her trial was the fastest overall qualifier Your Easy Jess, who finished third in the final.

Your Easy Jess won his trial by daylight with the fastest time of the day; in the final, he and jockey Edgar Cervantes chased the two front runners and just missed, finishing a nose behind in third.

Your Easy Jess is owned and trained by Armando Alamos. He was bred in New Mexico by Mike Abraham, by Jess A Chicks and out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Easy Your Honor. Your Easy Jess debuted in a maiden race at Sunland Park before shipping into Weber for the trials.

Completing the field were Executive Temptation, Sole Man, Jr Enola Mae, Blazin Mr Jess and Powerfultrain. Jess Good Vintage and No Hesitation were scratched.
