Streakin Pr Prevails in Allred Brothers Stakes at Turf Paradise

PHOENIX, AZ—NOVEMBER 16, 2019—Streakin Pr and jockey Luis Valenzuela overcame a late start to gain ground and win the $9,500 Allred Brothers Stakes (not black-type) at Turf Paradise on Saturday afternoon.

Streakin Pr ($15.20) was a mild upset winner over post-time favorite Dominate This. The final time for the 300-yard stake was 15.379; Streakin Pr earned a 101 speed index.

Jose Mendoza owns and Angel Dominguez trains the 6-year-old son of Corona Cartel. He was bred in Oklahoma by Pine Ridge Farm LLC, out of Bonnie Streakin, by Streakin La Jolla.

Streakin Pr is now a multiple stakes winner with eight career wins in 22 starts and lifetime earnings of $202,138. He won the Valley Junction Futurity at Prairie Meadows in 2015 and is stakes placed at Remington and Canterbury.

Dominate This, with Emilio Tapia aboard, had the lead early in the race before they were passed by Streakin Pr to finish in second place by a neck.

The 4-year-old son of Dominyun is trained by Rigoberto Guillen for owner Wilifrido Guillen. He was bred by Brenda Reiswig in Oklahoma, out of the Valiant Hero mare Valiant Red Vixen.

Dominate This has six career wins in 20 starts with $94,991 in earnings. In 2018, he was second in the West Texas Derby (G3) at Sunland Park.

Be Quiet and Alex Carrillo finished in third place, a length behind the front runners. Be Quiet is owned by Jose Mendoza and trained by Angel Dominguez. The 4-year-old gelding is by Kiddy Up, out of the Check Him Out mare Thinking Out Loud, and was bred in California by Ed Allred.

Completing the field were Takoradi, Volcano and Ima Special Reb. Shenanigans Regard and Special Train were scratched.
