Up In The Clouds Fastest Qualifier To Northern Plains QH Futurity

BELCOURT, ND—JUNE 8, 2019—Up In The Clouds, under jockey Marcus Delorme, broke her maiden with an impressive two-length win in the first of two trials Saturday for the Northern Plains QH Futurity at Chippewa Downs. The daughter of Corona Up posted the fastest qualifying time of :19.115 seconds.

The eight fastest qualifiers from the two trial races will return to the North Dakota racetrack on Sunday, June 23rd to vie for the winner's share of a $22,215 purse going 350 yards.

Conditioned by Cole Wilson, Up In The Clouds races for Cole and co-breeder/owner Steve Leonard. The bay filly is out of the Dashin Bye mare Dashing Clouds.

In the second trial the Corona B gelding Ima Mitey Corona also broke his maiden with a a 1-˝ length trial victory to secure the third fastest clocking of :19:301 seconds. Evan Herman had the riding call aboard the bay gelding for owner Robert L. Herman and trainer Robert Lee Herman, Jr.

Ima Mitey Corona was bred in North Dakota by John Bubel from the Dashin Is Easy mare Eyes Mitey.

Bubel got four qualifiers to the Northern Plains QH Futurity as owner and is the breeder of six of the finalist. His qualifiers include 2nd fastest Jesses Silk; 4th fastest Perrys Easy Victory; 5th fastest Shesa Dashin Jet Eye; and 6th fastest Sucha Dash Of Corona.

Terry Davis led all trainers getting three qualifiers. Robert Lee Herman, Jr. and Cole Wilson each had two. The aforementioned sire Corona B sired four qualifiers while Dashing Jess Perry sired three of the eight finalists.
