Valentina Relentless became the second 2-year-old this year to win two futurties when she scored a two-length win in the $77,475 Hadley-Giles Memorial Futurity at Weber Downs.

Valentina Relentless Gets Second Futurity Win With Track Record Performance Saturday

OGDEN, UT—JUNE 1, 2019—Valentina Relentless, a daughter of leading first-crop sire Hes Relentless, got her second stakes win of the season Saturday afternoon when broke a 25-year-old 330 yard track record in the $77,475 Hadley-Giles Memorial Futurity at Weber Downs.

Under jockey Alan Miramontes, Valentina Relentless broke on top then widened her lead over Fooses Tat to two-lengths, while completing the 330 yards in a quick :16.860 seconds, breaking the Weber Downs 330 yards track record while earning a 103 speed index. The previous record of :16.880 was set October 8, 1994 by Dealing The Cash.

Owned-and-trained by Kenia Marioni, Valentina Relentless picked up $30,990 for the Hadley-Giles win. Out of the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Ba Little Mini, the sorrel filly has won three of four starts and earned $52,368. Buddy Albin bred the filly in California. She won the Golden Spike Futurity at Weber Downs last April.

The Roberto Ortiz owned-and-trained Fooses Tat picked up $15,495 for second. Daniel Carrillo had the riding call aboard the Foose filly out of Wild Tat Too by Stoli. Fawna Knight and Ronald Skeen is the breeder.

Kvn Little Sister, a sister to AQHA Racing Champion Kvn Corona, finished one-length back in third for owner/breeder McColee Land and Livestock LLC. Riley Moosman trains the Corona Cartel filly from the Executive Menace mare Executive Looks. Ridden by Jesus Canales, the brown filly earned $7,747 for her effort.

Pollitical Fairytale, Mauis Interested, Vino Bello, Chasin Streamers, Fire Hero, Cds Its Only Money and There Goes My Girl completed the field. Chance To Be Valiant was scratched.
