OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 4, 2019—Admiral Sting became the first multiple stakes winner at Remington Park during this meet, winning the Restricted Grade 2, $68,000 Mr Jet Moore Stakes on Thursday night.

It was the second time this meet that jockey Jimmy Brooks and trainer Eddie Willis were interviewed after such a victory with Admiral Sting taking his picture in the winner's circle. The 4-year-old horse by Apollitical Jess, out of the Strawfly Special mare Sting Scorpion Sting, won the $68,000 Mighty Deck Three Stakes on opening night at 250 yards and matched that victory in tonight's Mr Jet Moore at 350 yards. He also ran fifth in the $50,000 Eastex Stakes last time out on March 28.

"He didn't get away from the gate in the Eastex," said Brooks. "Today he left there good. And he got to the other end. Ran his race."

Admiral Sting went off at 3-1 odds on Thursday and paid $8.60to win, $5.60 to place and $2.80 to show. He covered the 350 yards in 17.532 seconds over a fast track for a speed index of 89.

"He's getting really good, and he's sound," said Willis. "We'll just wait now for the next one. I think he'll get little better the rest of the year."

Admiral Sting improved his record to six wins from 16 starts and padded his lifetime bankroll to $158,381 after pocketing $40,800 of the purse for first. He was bred in Oklahoma by owner Jahree Standridge from Coalgate, Okla. Admiral Sting also has run second twice and third three times.

The favorite in the race, AJs High, at 2-1 odds, was restless in the gate and then broke slowly to finish well back in last place.

Admiral Sting won by three-quarters of a length over runner-up Bye Byefreighttrain (5-2) and was another three-quarters of a length ahead of third-place finisher Home Boy James (9-1).

Bye Byefreighttrain races for owner/breeder L.P. Frank and is conditioned by trainer Shawna Manriquez. Jonathan Domingez rode the Oklahoma-bred son of multiple stakes sire Freighttrain B from the Takin On The Cash mare Bye Bye Bygones. He earned $13,800 to bring his earnings total to nearly $340,000.

Cody Wainscott rode Home Boy James for owner Jose Martinez and trainer Erik Rodriguez-Garcia. Maynard Greeson bred the son of Ivory James in Oklahoma from the Dashin Chico mare Sacchi Mmg. He picked up $7,590 for the effort.

Peighnt Your Fate, Racanteur, Freighttrain B Fast, Valiant Rogue and Ajs High completed the field.

The Mr Jet Moore Stakes is named in honor of the 1972 American Quarter Horse Association World Champion who was bred in Oklahoma by the late Bob Moore. Among his many accomplishments, Mr Jet Moore won the inaugural Champion of Champions race at Los Alamitos in southern California in 1972. The race is the richest event for older Quarter Horses in North America.

Racing continues Friday at Remington Park with 12 races beginning at 6pm, 11 of those are Remington Park Futurity trials. Another set of 11 trials will be conducted on the 12-race program on Saturday night at 6pm. Remington Park Derby trials will be featured on Sunday afternoon at 1:30pm.
