SUNLAND PARK, NM—JANUARY 26, 2019—Ryansmanonthemoon (9-1) got up by a neck over Cd Mamas Boy to win the $211,142 Shue Fly Stakes(RG2) on Saturday at Sunland Racetrack & Casino. Woodys Copy Cat finished another neck back in a blanket finish to get third.

Ridden by jockey Mauro Salcedo, Ryansmanonthemoon completed the 400 yards in :19.309 seconds, a 96 speed index with a 7 mph tailwind. It was his third win in 11 starts. The $99,237 winners' purse boosted the First Moonflash 3-year-old's earnings mark to $142,917.

Cynthia Gonzalez saddled the New Mexico-bred gelding for owner/breeder's Jimmy Negrete and Jimmy Vazquez. Ryansmanonthemoon is out of the Man On The Move mare Girlonthego.

Also by First Moonflash, Cd Mamas Boy picked up $38,006 for finishing second. Jimmy Guerra trains the gelding for owner Daniel Ramirez. Bred by Cynthia Dick, from the Corona Cartel mare Mama Rosa B, Cd Mamas Boy was banked nearly $70,000.

Graded stakes winner Woodys Copy Cat Popped early but stopped under Manuel Gutierrez to earn a third-place payday worth $23,226. Also trained by Gonzalez, the daughter of Woodbridge races for owner Enrique Barrera. MJ Farms bred the $269,294 earner from Fast Copy Miss by Heza Fast Man.

Posttime favorite and fastest qualifier Hs Paul Walker bore in badly at the break and was disqualified from fourth to eighth.

Completing the official order of finish were Saul, Freedom Flash, Igotmybiggirljeanson, Vintage Vaquera Hs Paul Waker , Cd Flash And Fame and El Red.
