PHOENIX, AZ—JANUARY 6, 2019—One Spicy Eagle, under jockey Andres Osuna drove to a half-length victory over Sweet Babie James in the $7,800 Dash For The Cash Stakes (not black type) Sunday afternoon at Turf Paradise.
A finalist in the AQRA Turf Paradise Derby on December 9, One Spicy Eagle completed the 250 yards in :13.288 seconds, equaling a 101 speed index over the sloppy sealed racetrack.
Trainer Raul Valenzuela saddled the Texas-bred daughter of leading sire One Famous Eagle for owner Angel Valenzuela. Bred by Janet McKinnerney, the 4-year-old is out of the Tres Seis mare Tres Spice, a sister to multiple Los Alamitos Grade 1 winner Tres Passes.
One Spicy Eagle has compiled a (16) 3-2-2 record and today's winning purse worth $4,691 boosted her career mark to $21,068.

Ridden by jockey Kevin Carbajal, Sweet Babie James earned $1,513 for today's effort, bringing his lifetime bankroll to $37,489.
Also bred by Ralph and Carolyn Fales, Texas Tornadoe got a clean trip under jockey Joseph Belloc, Jr. to finish a neck back for third.
Raul Valenzuela trains the Texas Icon 4-year-old filly out of the thoroughbred mare Its a Dry Heat, by Dixieland Heat. The multiple stakes winning filly has earned $37,586.
Lett Her Bea, Streakin Pr, Perfect Az Can Be, Sanctimonious and The Wasabi Kid completed the field.
