Storming Red Chickie Steps Up in Terrance Hill Stakes Victory

ALTOONA, IA—OCTOBER 13, 2018—In just her second ever stakes appearance Storming Red Chickie turned in a determined effort under jockey Jorge Torres to defeat Rm Kool Okey by one-length in the $60,000 Terrance Hill Stakes Saturday at Prairie Meadows. My T Oak Tree finished 1-¼ length off the leaders to take third.

Conditioned by trainer Tony Dean Jones, Storming Red Chickie completed the 400 yard course in :20.148 seconds, into a 10 mph headwind, to pick up the winners' purse worth $27,000. It was the biggest pay day of the Red Storm Cat 4-year-old's career.

A homebred racing for owner-breeder Kevin Heims, Storming Red Chickie has compiled a (7) 4-2-0 record and banked $65,067. She entered the race off an Allowance win at Prairie Meadows on September 22nd. The sorrel filly is out of Burn Down Chickie by Chicks Beduino.

David Brown rode runner-up Rm Kool Okey for trainer Wayne Garner and owner Lisa Baumeister. Roy and Marilyn Maupin bred the Lil Kool Wagon 3-year-old in Iowa from the Okey Dokey Dale mare Okey Dokey Dixie. He earned $10,800 to increase his earnings mark to $25,028.

My T Oak Tree picked up $6,000 for his third-place effort. Alex Wessels trains the Iowa-homebred for owner/breeder Kay Sage. Cristian Esqueda rode the son of Oak Tree Special out of Real Royal Down by Mr Jess Perry. He has earned $44,415.

Fast N Famous, Iowas Texas Tlp, Real Wagon, Quick Chick Magnet, Special Lee Fast, Mr Special Wagon and Trs Country Chickboy completed the field.
