Fastest Qualifier Mpshinning Returns To Win $154,300 Gillespie County Fair Futurity on Sunday

FREDERICKSBURG, TX—AUGUST 26, 2018—Mpshinning, under jockey Luis Vivanco, drifted out then exploded late to catch Dees Jetting Diva by a neck in the $153,400 Gillespie County Fair Futurity on Sunday afternoon. Zooming Perry was 2-˝ lengths off the leaders to finish third.

Saddled by trainer Adrian Huitron, Mpshinning completed the 350 yards into a 10 mph headwind in a quick :17.426 clocking to earn a 106 speed index. It was the third consecutive win for the Louisiana-bred 2-year-old owned by Larry J. Boudreaux.

Bred by Jon and Donna McPherson, the son of All American Futurity(G1) winner Mr Piloto is out of Shinningperryday by First To Shine. The $54,005 winners' purse this afternoon boosted his earnings total to $70,205.

Already a stakes winner of the Old South Futurity, Dees Jetting Diva suffered her first loss in four starts. Ridden by jockey Eddie Sanchez the daughter of multiple stakes sire Jet Black Patriot stumbled at the start before taking the lead to get caught at the wire by Mpshinning.

Trainer Jose Louis Sanchez III conditions the Texas-bred filly from the Ivory James mare La Boreal for owner/breeder Whitetail Weld LLC. She picked up $23,145 for the effort to bring her earnings mark to $84,098.

Zooming Perry earned $15,430 for his third-place effort for owner Rancho el Huajillo LLC. Also trained by Huitron, the son of Mr Jess Perry was ridden by jockey Raul Ramirez, Jr. Cynthia Zoch bred Zooming Perry in Texas from the Azoom mare Joezoom.

Moons First Cd, Shapeshifter, Jet Black King, Enid Girl, Shot Of Pyc and All Sophia Wanted completed the field.
