EVANSTON, WY—JULY 7, 2018—Giorgina, a 4-year-old daughter of multiple stakes sire Giorgino, defeated Vvr Dazzzling Corona by half-a-length Sunday in the $10,000 Raysha's Run Racing For A Cure Stakes (not black type) at Wyoming Downs. Mountain Vista finished another length back in third.

Ridden by jockey Jesus Valenzuela, Giorgina completed the 350 yard task in :17.659 seconds, a 92 speed index into a 5 mph headwind. Trainer Uriel Dominguez, Sr. saddled the Utah-homebred for owner/breeder Miguel Zavala Lopez. The sorrel filly, out of Miss Flying Jessie by Fly Jess Fly, has compiled a (10) 4-4-1 record. The $6,000 winner's purse today boosted her earnings level to $14,300.

Multiple stakes winner Vvr Dazzling Corona put in a late effort under jockey Oscar Cervantes to get second. Skyler Greene trains the Wyoming-bred daughter of Coronas Velvet for owner Casey Albert Lipp. Mike Lipp bred the 4-year-old from the Dash To Chivato mare Dazzling Chivata. Winner of the Wyoming Bred Derby at Wyoming Downs last season, Vvr Dazzling Corona has won seven of 17 career starts and earned $32,949.

Stan Young's stakes-placed Mountain Vista picked up $1,000 for third. Also trained by Young, the daughter of third-crop sire Jr Dynasty Mountain was ridden by Uriel Dominguez. Out of the Proudest Effort mare Visual Evidence, Mountain Vista has compiled a (9) 2-2-3 record and earned $13,532.

Queen Of The Kartel, One Hot Party, Light Up The Dark, Girl Like, Iggy Is, Miss Hannah B and Favorite Snowflake completed the field.
