Vvr Dont Sugarcoatit Posts Top Time In Ron Cook Wyoming Bred Futurity

EVANSTON, WY—JULY 8, 2018—Coming off a fifth-place effort in the Wyoming All Breeds Futurity June 24th at Energy Downs, Vvr Dont Sugarcoatit got her second career win on Sunday while posting the fastest qualifying mark for the Wyoming Bred Futurity at Wyoming Downs.

The 10 fastest qualifiers, from six trials contested today (Sunday), will return to the Evanston, Wyoming racetrack on Sunday, July 22nd to vie for the winner's share of a $6,500-added purse. A slight crosswind turned to a headwind in the third trial that increased to 10 mph by the final trial (Race 8). No horses qualified in the last three trials.

Ridden by jockey Oscar Cervantes, Vvr Dont Sugarcoatit defeated Fame Creek by nose in the opening trial (race 3) while completing the 300 yards in :15.552 seconds, a 93 speed index with a 3 mph crosswind. Trainer Diana Garfias conditions the daughter of Corona Velvet for owner/breeder Mike Lipp.

Out of the Streakin La Jolla mare Highheeled La Jolla, Vvr Dont Sugarcoatit has won two of three starts this season and earned $6,220.

Fame Creek, a Conn Creek homebred racing for Ron and Laurie Moosman, held on to the second fastest clocking of :15.566, also a 93 speed index. Under jockey Jesus Valenzuela, Fame Creek got caught at the wire. She is the first of two qualifiers saddled by trainer Riley Moosman.

Wyoming All Breeds Futurity winner Chloes Smoke N Fame was a neck winner over Dashin Country Honey in the third trial (Race 5) to get the third fastest time of :15.579 seconds, a 92 speed index with a 2 mph crosswind.

Conditioned by trainer Chad Giles, Chloes Smoke N Fame races for owner Richard Dolbow. The black daughter of Smoke N Sparks has compiled a (3) 2-1-0 record and earned $24,394 this season. Korell Family Trust bred the filly from the Dash Ta Fame mare KJ Dasher. Jesus Canales was riding.

Jockey Cordarelton Benn rode Ss Happy Dance to a neck win the second trial (race 4) owner-trainer and breeder Stan Young. The daughter of Ss Showboat earned the fourth fastest time of :15.587 seconds, a 92 speeded index with no wind.

It was the first win four starts for the filly out of Eagle Nation by Stoli. She was 8th in the Wyoming All Breeds Juvenile in her last start at Energy Downs.
