EVANSTON, WY—JULY 7, 2018— Pistol The Kid defeated Showmethedoe by a neck, in the second four trials to the Utah Bred Futurity at Wyoming Downs Saturday, to qualify to his third futurity this season. Ridden by jockey Nakia Ramirez the son of Pistol Packing Perry posted a :17.720 clocking for the 350 yards, a 90 speed index into 5 mph crosswind, to establish the top qualifying mark.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will return to Wyoming Downs on Saturday, July 21st to vie for the winner share of a $6,000-added purse going 350 yards.

Trainer Skyler Greene saddled Pistol The Kid for owner Casey Albert Lipp. Jeff Mitchell bred the sorrel gelding from the Dash Ta Fame mare Nitas Fame. He qualified to both the Hadley/Giles Memorial Futurity and the Beehive Futurity earlier this year. Pistol The Kid has banked $8,630.

The aforementioned Showmethedoe held on to the second fastest time of :17.770 seconds. A homebred for owner/breeder Steve Berry, Showmethedoe is a son of All American Futurity(G1) winner No Secrets Here from the Hennessy (TB) mare Bundle Doe. Still a maiden from four starts, the sorrel colt was a finalist in the Beehive Futurity in his last start. Santiago Jimenez had the riding assignment.
