Peves Iba Racy Gracy Prevails in $50,000 Oklahoma Juvenile Invitational

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 24, 2018—Coming off a third-place effort in the trials, Peves Iba Racy Gracy broke her maiden with a neck win over Hey Seis in the $50,000 Oklahoma Juvenile Invitational Saturday night at Remington Park. Ivory Runnnin finished a head back to get third in a blanket finish that included nearly the entire field.

A homebred racing for owner/breeder Gordon Pevehouse of Warner, Okla. and ridden by jockey Omar Reyes, Peves Iba Racy Gracy completed the 300 yards in :15.584 seconds, an 85-speed index with a 7-mph tailwind.

Conditioned by trainer Clinton Crawford, the sorrel filly by Iba Bad Boy, an unraced son of former leading sire Strawfly Special. Out of the Looks Royal mare, Peves Lookin Royal, Peves Iba Racy Gracy earned $20,000 for the her first victory.

Peves IBA Racy Gracy was at 6-1 odds in the wagering and paid $15 to win, $5.40 to place and $5 to show. Hey Seis was the beaten betting favorite at 7-5 odds, returning $4 to place and $3.40 to show. Ivory Runnin paid $7.80 to show.

Fastest qualifier Hey Seis picked up $8,500 for her second-place effort. Jose Espinosa and Elton Ezra Lee paid $17,500 for the daughter of Tres Seis in the TQHA Yearling Sale last summer in San Antonio. Bred by Jerry Windham, Hey Seis is from the Holland Ease mare Jess Runnin. Jockey Raul Ramirez, Jr. had the riding call aboard the 2-year-old for trainer Wesley Giles.

Third-place finisher Ivory Runnin is a $5,000 Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale graduate owned-and-trained by Leonardo Alcala. Augstin Silva rode the Ivory James gelding from the Check Him Out mare Checkhimout Taryn. He earned $5,500 for the effort.

Mirabeau, James On The Fly, Harry Bosch, Mary Janes Hero, Ms Perry Cartel, Jm This Budz For U and Secret Gems completed the field.
