Tightwire Flies To Best Valentine's Day Training Race At Remington Park

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK--FEBRUARY 14, 2018-- A 2-year-old Paint brought some love to the training race activities on Valentine's Day at Remington Park. Tightwire rolled to an easy 2-1/2 length win while posting the fastest 250-yard time of the day over 11 training events.

Trained by Dee Keener and ridden by Jesus Salazar, Tightwire broke sharply on the lead against four other Paints and quickly pulled away from his rivals. Encouraged slightly by Salazar, the gelding responded and crossed the finish in :13.97 seconds, running into a southerly headwind of 17mph.

A Texas-bred by CRM Livewire from the Awesome Chrome mare Biker Babe, Tightwire was the only runner throughout the 11 training races to finish in less than 14-seconds. The headwind was consistent throughout the session, ranging between 17-18mph. Tightwire is owned by the Paint Horse Queens of Inola, Okla.

CRM Livewire was the only sire with two winners on Wednesday's card. Other sires getting winners were Carters Cartel, Dominyun, Duke Kahanamoku, FDD Dynasty, Freighttrain B, Furyofthewind, High Rate Of Return and Tres Seis.

Trainer Brian Muse saddled two winners, Dominyun Cartel in Race 1 and Thinkin Man in Race 5 for owner Brian Gunder. Dee Keener was the only other trainer with two winners, the aforementioned Tightwire in Race 9 and Hotdoggin Starsky in Race 6 .
