LOS ALAMITOS, CA—DECEMBER 8, 2017—Vincent Treyes’ Duck Dash N Go recovered from some trouble shortly after the start to dominate eight rivals in the $25,000 A Ransom Handicap at 350 yards on Friday at Los Alamitos.

Starting from post eight, the now multiple stakes winner Duck Dash N Go was bumped about 25 yards into the race, but jockey Rodrigo Aceves quickly helped her regain her stride and took the lead 100 yards after the start.

The Coronas Fast Dash filly never looked back from there on the way to posting a ½ length win over a field that included two-time derby finalist Myfavoritestreaker, multiple allowance winner Loud Little Kid, Grade 1 stakes placed runner Tarzanito, and five other stakes caliber runners.

Trained by Monty Arrossa, Duck Dash N Go entered the A Ransom after winning the Rebs Little Lulu Handicap on October 27.

"She’s been ultra-consistent her whole life," Arrossa said. "She likes to win races. This is her ninth win. From day one when we started her she wanted to be a racehorse. She has a perfect disposition. She’s quiet, she’s good resting, and she is extremely sound. She’s really liking Los Alamitos."

Duck Dash N Go arrived at Los Alamitos after running second in the Bitterroot Derby held at Sandy Downs in Idaho Falls on June 24. In her first local start, Duck Dash N Go was third to Grade 1 winner and Champion of Champions finalist Time For Jess in the Merial Distaff California Challenge.

The Bobby Cox-bred filly has won three of four starts at Los Alamitos since the Merial Distaff California. It all makes for a happy owner of this Oklahoma-bred runner.

"Vincent Treyes is one of the best clients that I have," Arrossa said. "He’s raised some horses in the past and in the last couple of years he’s gone to the horse sales and bought some (Quarter Horses). We’ve had some luck with (Duck Dash N Go) and he’s got a real nice Corona Cartel colt coming on. His family has a real large calf-raising business in Idaho. They’re hard worker and they’re real good people."

Duck Dash N Go earned $13,750 for the win to take her career earnings to $67,442. As previously mentioned by the trainer, Duck Dash N Go has won nine of 17 career starts and has hit the board in 13 of those outings. The Grade 1 Charger Bar Handicap in the first week in January could be a possible next outing for Duck Dash N Go.

"I really like Los Alamitos’ stakes program for older mares," Arrossa added. "We’ll look into next year in running her in some of those races. She’s not a very big filly. I was watching her warm up and she only galloped for a little bit. She’s just a really easy-going filly."

There was a lot of bumping happening with the horses racing in posts two through six in the A Ransom. One of them, Ed Allred’s Remembering Florence was disqualified from fourth and placed fifth after bumping with stablemate Hold Sway after the start.

Ron Hartley’s Favorite Cartel filly Myfavoritestreaker, who avoided troubled after breaking from post one, earned $5,625 for running second.

Allred’s Kiddy Up filly Loud Little Kid started from the outside post nine and earned $3,125 for running third.

Hold Sway, Remembering Florence, Apollitical Spirit, Tarzanito, One Sweet Runner, and Scholarly completed the field.
