Too Much White Scores Ontario Sires Stakes Futurity Win From Outside Post

AJAX, ONT—AUGUST 13, 2017—Too Much White broke his maiden Sunday from the outside post when he defeated fastest qualifier Junoimzoomin by a half-a-length in the $57,235(US) Ontario Sires Stakes Futurity at Ajax Downs. Royal Hatrick, who finished fourth, was moved to third after the disqualification of Hanover Hill Sugar for interference.

Jockey Ramiro Castillo got his fifth win on Sunday's Ajax Card when Too Much White drove over the 330 yards in :17.280 seconds into a 4-mph crosswind. It was the first win in three starts for the son of Fire Finder and the $22,894(US).

Trainer Jason Pascoe also got his fifth win on Sunday's program in the Ontario Sires Stakes Futurity. In the prior race, he saddled the trifecta in the Adequan Ajax Derby Challenge (see related story).

Too Much White, a homebred for owner Gary McNichol earned $22,893(US) for the win. The sorrel gelding is out of Gotta Blazin Body by Chicks A Blazin.

In just her second career start, fastest qualifier Junoimzoomin jumped out to mad lead under jockey Chelsey Willick but could not hold off the eventual winner. Joe Tavares trains the Juno Back homebred for owner/breeder Christine Tavares. Out of the Shazoom mare Jessshazoom, Junoimzoomin earned $11,447(US) for her effort.

Royal Hatrick picked up $5,723(US) for third following the disqualification of Hanover Hill Sugar. Barry Wood conditions the daughter Fire Finder. James Bogar owns the bay filly out of the Strawfly Special mare Special Royal Takeon. Gary and Marlene McNichol is the breeder.

Completing the official order-of-finish were Smoakn Gun, Hellfires Mistress, Jess Tuff, Elenorr, Hanover Hill Prince, Lacey B and Hanover Hill Sugar.
