OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 28, 2017—A sharp start gave Race Princess an early advantage in her $19,800 allowance race on Sunday at Remington Park, an event for 2-year-olds going 300 yards. The young filly then held on to triumph by a neck to remain perfect through two career starts.
Owned and bred in Oklahoma by Bollenbach Farms of Oklahoma City and trained by Stacy Charette-Hill, Race Princess was ridden by Jorge Torres. She won her career debut in mid-April at Remington Park, overlooked at odds of 49-1. Sunday afternoon, the public did not forget her as she was the wagering favorite at 2-1 odds. Both of her wins have taken place at the 300-yard distance, where she crossed the finish Sunday over a fast track in 15.670 seconds.
Xtravaganza made up ground at the end of the race to make the margin a neck. Run Minion Run was third, another neck behind the runner-up.
Race Princess paid $6.60 to win, $4.20 to place and $3 to show. Xtravaganza paid $12.40 to place and $8.60 to show. Run Minion Run returned $3.80 to show.
A daughter of Corona Cartel from the Strawfly Special mare Race Valentine, Race Princess made $11,430 in her Sunday allowance victory to run her two-race career earnings to an even $33,000.
