Longshot Aregal Rainbow Rolls In Thursday Feature At Remington Park

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 23, 2017—Aregal Rainbow used a perfect start to immediately take the lead in Thursday’s $19,260 allowance feature at Remington Park. The 3-year-old filly never gave up control in going on to win the 330-yard race by a half-length at long odds of 20-1.

Owned by Michael and Gail Ahern of Purcell, Okla. and trained by Stacy Charette-Hill, Aregal Rainbow was ridden to the sharp score by Jorge Torres.

Our Miss Dyna moved up to gain second but was never a serious threat to the winner, who handled the distance in 17.116 seconds over a fast track. One Eagle Things was a nose behind Our Miss Dyna for third.

Aregal Rainbow rewarded her backers by paying $42 to win, $11 to place and $8 to show. Our Miss Dyna paid $3.40 to place and $3 to show. One Eagle Things paid $10.20 to show. JS Challenger was the 7-5 betting favorite in the race and finished out of the money in eighth place.

Aregal Rainbow won her second career race from seven career starts and ran her winning streak to two, as she won her final race of 2016 while competing at Prairie Meadows in Altoona, Iowa.

An Oklahoma-bred filly by Apollitical Jess from the A Regal Choice mare The Regal Streak, Aregal Rainbow earned $11,430 on Thursday night, raising her overall bankroll to $40,246.
