Late Surge By Eyesa Special Harper Wins Wyoming Bred Futurity

EVANSTON, WY—JULY 24, 2016—A late surge, under jockey Luis Peralta, helped Eyesa Special Harper to a half-length victory over Vvr Poolhall Girl in the $37,100 Wyoming Bred Futurity at Wyoming Downs Sunday afternoon. Vvr Dazzling Corona finished a neck back in third.

A homebred for Broken Bones Cattle Company, Eyesa Special Harper completed the 300 yards in :15.430 seconds, a 97-speed index. The $12,985 winner's purse boosted the filly's earnings total to $14,176.

Jesse Villegas trains the chestnut fill out of the First N Six mare Streakin Camilla. She was also a finalist in the Bucking Horse Futurity earlier this year.

Vvr Poolhall Girl finished a game second for owner K Cross Racing LLC and trainer Chancey Spencer. Uriel Dominguez rode the Coronas Velvet filly out of Bcr Buds Doll by Strawflyin Buds. Bred by Mike Lipp, Vvr Poolhall Girl earned $5,936 for the effort.

Also bred by Mike Lipp, Vvr Dazzling Corona earned $3,710 for third. Paul Greene saddled the Corona Velvet filly for owner Casey Albert Lipp. Cordarelton Benn had the riding assignment on the sorrel filly from the Dash To Chivato mare Dazzling Chivata.

Eyesa Special Shadow, Vvr Stormy Cartel, Brindis Secret Toast, Sixs Streakin Hestia, La Futura Dash and Pro Paige completed the field.
