Mr James Quick Pulls Upset To Win Jack Brooks Stakes

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 29, 2016—Mr James Quick broke sharply and quickly went to the front to win the $50,000 Jack Brooks Stakes Sunday at Remington Park.

The first win of the season from just two starts, Mr James Quick covered the 350 yards in :17.292 seconds over a fast track. The 3-year-old gelded son of Jesse James Jr from the Corona Cartel mare Miss Corona Quick won all three of his races at Remington Park last year but finished ninth in his 2016 debut here in April after rearing at the start. Things were different in Sunday’s Jack Brooks Stakes.

“When we loaded in the gate and they tied him into his flipping rig, he stood there and never moved and I could tell he was going to break tonight,” jockey Russel Hadley said from the winner’s circle.
