Undefeated Dicecapades Wins FL Lady Bug Stakes At Remington Park

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 29, 2016—Dicecapades added the $70,000 FL Lady Bug Stakes to her undefeated resume, scoring by 1-1/4 lengths in the race for 2-year-old Oklahoma-breds Sunday at Remington Park.

Owned by Terry McLean of Claremore, Okla. and trained by Garry McLean, Dicecapades crushed her competition in winning the 330-yard race in :16.715 seconds over a fast track under jockey James Flores. She adds the FL Lady Bug Stakes to her April victory in the Laico Bird Stakes, making her mark a perfect three-for-three this season and in her young career.

Senator Teller chased in second with Kates Wagon another nose behind for third.

The wagering favorite at 9-5 odds, Dicecapades paid $5.80 to win, $3.20 to place and $2.80 to show. Senator Teller paid $4.60 to place and $3.60 to show. Kates Wagon paid $7.40 to show.

Bred in Oklahoma by Garvan Kelly and Nancy Yearsley, Dicecapades is a filly by Prospect To The Top from the Tres Seis mare Dicey Riley. She made $39,000 in the FL Lady Bug Stakes to boost her earnings to $91,618.

Javier Noel Contreras saddled Senator Teller for owner Alvaro Ibarra, Jr. Wootan Racing bred the Louisiana Senator colt in Oklahoma from the Teller Cartel mare Special Teller. Winner of the Oklahoma Juvenile earlier this season, Senator Teller picked up $13,000 to bring his bankroll to nearly $35,000 in only three starts this season. Armando Ramirez had the riding call.

Kates Wagon, a daughter of leading sire Pyc Paint Your Wagon, races for owner/breeder J K Running Horses, LLC. Kenny Lamon conditions the brown filly with Daniel Torres riding. The $7,150 third place check boosted her career mark to $20,358.

Perrys A Hero, Barue, Darker Tint, Bout Tree FIddy, El Chanconkle, Hailofadasher and Major Freight completed the field.

FL Lady Bug was a prominent broodmare from the late 1940s for Hall of Fame owners and breeders Marvin and Lela Barnes of Ada, Okla.

The holiday racing week at Remington Park continues Memorial Day Monday, May 30. The first race Memorial Day is at 1:30pm - Central.
