Pappasito, Apollitical Jess 2-Year-Olds Battle For Top Harrah's Schooling Time

BOSSIER CITY, LA—FEBRUARY 5, 21016—Only a neck separated the top two time getters on Friday during seven schooling races conducted at Louisiana Downs for two-year-old who remain eligible to the $250,000-est. Harrah's Entertainment Futurity(G3).

Roostersito, a $4,500 Heritage Place Yearling graduate, battled to a neck victory over Reins in the third race while garnering the day's top 220 yard time of :12.449 seconds. Javier Contreras conditions the colt by multiple stakes sire Pappasito for owner Blanca Estela Galacia. Antonio Alberto was in the irons.

Marty Powers, Agent for Michael Samples, consigned Roostersito to the Oklahoma City sale last September. The bay is out of an unraced daughter of Genuine Strawfly. The third dam is the stakes winning sire Alibi mare Tempt Me Not, granddam of champion and champion sire Tempting Dash.

Racing for her breeder Rouse Racing Farm, Reins posted a :12.484, under jockey Damian Martinez, the second fastest time on Friday. Bobby Martinez conditions the daughter of world champion and leading sire Apollitical Jess from the unraced Mr Eye Opener mare Roll The Hardways. The dam is a full sister to stakes winner First Eye Opener.

Maritime Express, a short-yearling graduate from the 2015 Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale, finished a nose behind the leaders in Race 3, while getting the fourth fastest time of :12.493 for owner Jesus Gonzalez, Jr.

Gabby Watson saddled the Brimmerton half-brother to second crop sire Favorite Cartel. Bobby D. Cox bred the colt from the Corona Cartel mare Shenoshercorona. This is the family of world champion Whosleavingwho, multiple stakes sire Coronas Leaving You and Texas Classic Futurity(G1) winner Valiant Lil Lady.

In the sixth trial Dashcoronatothetop defeated Simple Macho Lady by a nose to get the third fastest time of :12.491 seconds. A daughter to two-time champion Prospect To The Top is the first starter for the Some Dasher mare Dishwater Dash. Trainer Gabby Watson saddled the winner for owner Melisa Charre. Mario Trujillo was up.

Simple Macho Lady, a filly by Simply Macho from the Willie Wanta Dash mare Rosie Wins The Dash, races for owner Jose Rodriguez and trainer Javier Contreras. Ridden by jockey Eddie Aceves, Simple Macho Lady posted the fifth fastest time of :12.500. The third dam is the stakes winning Dash For Cash mare Dashin Angel.

Trails for the $250,000-est. Harrah's Entertainment Futurity are set Tuesday March 1 the first official day AQHA 2-year-olds can make their debuts. The 300-yard final will be contested on closing day, March 23.
