ALTOONA, IA—AUGUST 30, 2015—Prairie Meadows hosted the $98,459 Iowa Stallion Futurity and the $49,500 Iowa Stallion Derby on Sunday's race card.

Give A Wink Slight Surprise in Iowa Stallion Futurity

Give A Wink rallied strongly, at 11-1 odds, under jockey Mark Luark to defeat Wilena Featured by three-quarters in the $98,459 Iowa Stallion Futurity Sunday afternoon at Prairie Meadows. Shesa Vivan finished half-a-length behind for third.

Conditioned by Jason Olmstead, Give A Win covered the 350 yards in :18.085 seconds over a fast track to pocket her biggest payday worth $28,455. The homebred daughter of Talkalota Bull races for owner/breeder Leonard Reed. Out of the Special Leader mare Special Bold Chick, Give A Win has put together a (6) 2-1-1 record and earned $53,901 this season.

Wilena Featured earned $18,140 for her runner-up effort. Jonathan Chavira trains the Cartels Feature filly for the partnership of John Herrick, Connie Young and Ken Denning. Herrick bred the bay in Iowa from the First N Kool mare Time For Wilena. Ridden by Jesus Salazar Wilena Featured has earned $24,980 in three starts.

Tony Jones saddled post-time favorite Shesa Vivian to a third place finish for owner/breeder Jan Bockenstedt. Ridden by Agustin Silva, the Just Amazing Jess earned $10,671 for the effort. She is out of the Mr Eye Opener mare Shesa Eye Of Rose.

Jess Imagine, Feature Me Leading, Tobys Sambo, Trs Amazing Leon, Lil Puddle Talk, Ima Happy Hooker and Jls Sure Shot completed the field.

Quickie Rickie Scores In Iowa Stallion Derby

Ridden by jockey Cody Smith, Quickie Rickie bounced from three off-the-board performances this season to win the $49,500 Iowa Stallion Derby at Prairie Meadows Sunday afternoon. The gelded son of First Dinastia dug in to take a blanket finish by a nose over Trs Just Like Jase and Harlydonegone.

Quickie Rickie completed the 400 yards in :20.572 seconds to pickup the winner's purse worth of $19,800. It was the best finish since placing second in the Iowa Stallion Futurity last summer and boosted his earnings to $44,046.

Wayne Garner conditions the Iowa-bred for owner Bob Urich. Richard Lee Reed bred Quickie Rickie from the Special Eye Appeal mare Special Stepper.

Trs Just Like Jase put in a good effort under jockey Jorge Torres to finish second. Shane Miller trains the homebred son of Just Amazing Jess for owner/breeder Vernon Hammes. Out of the Hot Shot Dash mare Trs Dashin Diamond, the bay gelding earned $8,315 to bring his earnings mark to over $30,000.

Tony Jones saddled Harleydonegone to his third place finish, another nose off the leaders, for owner Bad Boys Racing. Richard Tobin bred the Cartels Feature gelding from the Meter Me Gone mare Valentine Jewels. Ridden by jockey Storm Smith, he earned $4,950 for the effort. Winless in nine career starts, Harleydonegone has earned $18,256.
