Ice Fishn Breaks Maiden In Ontario Sires Stakes Futurity Final

AJAX, ONT—AUGUST 23, 2015—The lightly raced Ice Fishn recovered from a bump at the start to finish strong and break her maiden while defeating Daytona 500 by half-a-length in the $58,313(US) Ontario Sires Stakes Futurity Sunday afternoon at Ajax Downs. Speedocracy finished a head back in third place.

Ridden by Shanley Jackson, Ice Fishin completed the 330 yards in :17.410 seconds with a 12 mph tailwind. The $23,325(US) winners purse boosted the filly's earnings to $24,975 with a (2) 1-1-0 record.

Owned-and-trained by Stephanie Keeble the filly is by Iced N Oak is from the Fishers Dash mare Fishers Lines. Full Circle Racing bred the gray filly in Ontario.

Ivy Lane Racing's homebred Daytona 500 earned $11,663(US) for finishing second. Renee Wilson saddled the Its All About Speed filly out of Make Us A Miracle, by Dean Miracle. Ridden by Dylan Williams, Daytona 500 has earned $14,826 in two starts this year.

Speedocracy races for owner George Coleman and trainer Scott Reid. Cassandra Jeschke rode the Its All About Speed gelding out of Hotdoggin mare Hotdoggin Baby Doll. Bred by Katie Browne, Speedocracy earned $5,831(US) for third. Pickin Wild Cotton finished fourth but was DQ-'d to sixth for interference. Completing the official order of finish were Flick Me A Guinness, Hope Rambles On, Pickin Wild Cotton, Sugarmans Delight, Ifwisheswerefishes, Hal Bent and Sun Splashed Silk.
