Sharp Effort Gains Win For Blazin Version In New Mexico Breeders' Stakes

FARMINGTON, NM—AUGUST 2, 2015—Under jockey Jorge Bourdieu, Blazin Version turned in a sharp effort to defeat graded stakes winner Regal First Moon by a neck Sunday afternoon in the $50,000 New Mexico Breeders' Stakes at Sunray Park. La Estrella de Oro finished half-a-length back in third.

Kenneth Grisham saddled Blazin Version to victory for owner/breeder Hubaldo Solis. The Winners Version gelding clocked the 400 yard course in :19.714 seconds with a 6 mph tailwind to earn a 90 speed index. The $30,000 winner's purse boosted his career mark to nearly $80,000.

Out of the Chicks A Blazin mare Shes So Blazin, Blazin Victory's record stands at (10) 2-6-0. He was second in the New Mexico State Fair Senor Futurity(RG3) last fall.

Ramon Rivera saddled Regal First Moon, a graded stakes winning daughter of First Moonflash, for Regal Racing Stables, LLC. Jesse Levario was aboard to earn $11,000 and bring the brown filly's earning total to $90,411. Bred by S/M Cattle Export Co., from the Strawfly Special mare Regal Fly, Regal First Moon entered the race off a win in the Sunburst Stakes(RG3) at Sunland Park in March.

La Estrella de Oro earned $5,000 for her third place effort. Javier Borunda trains the Sixes Royal filly for owner Ana Torres. Ram and Katie Jaquez bred the gray filly from the Major Rime mare Majorly Easy. Alonso Rivera had the riding call.

Dungarees Version, First Power Flash, Americangunslinger and Office Moonflash completed the field.
