AJAX, ONT—JULY 2, 2015—At odds of 28-1 Cruwysn The Artic would not be denied as he defeated Not Looking To Shake by a head in the $52,500 Ontario Sires Stakes Maturity Wednesday at Ajax Downs.

Ridden by jockey Carly Furlonger, Cruwysn The Artic completed the 330 yards in :16.920 seconds, a 93 speed index against a 12 mph headwind. It was the sixth win 20 starts for the son of Dash To The Artic. The $21,000 winner's purse boosted his career total to $63,032.

Stephanie Keeble conditions the 6-year-old for owner/breeders Bob and Gail Woodward. W. Cruwys is the co-breeder of the gelding out of Sobriety Miss, by The Corona.

Helen Vanek rode Not Looking To Shake to his second place effort for owner/breeder Christine Tavares. Joe Tavares trains the Junos Back gelding out of Honky Tonk Shake, by Royal Shake Em. He earned $10,500 for the effort.

Heavy post-time favorite and fastest qualifier Jesskissmytexas finished ¾'s back in third place for owners Richard Wincikaby and DK Training Centre. Kim Ito saddled the Mr Jess Tex gelding out of Strawfly Fortune, by Strawfly Special, with Brian Bell getting the riding assignment. He earned $5,250 for the effort.

Pegasos One Underpar, Reckless An Wild, Sugamspicenotsonice, Cruwysn Down Home, Chasing Royalty, Artic Fame and Sofar Gone completed the field.
