Goodest Easy Winner in All Canadian Open Derby

LETHBRIDGE, ALB—MAY 24, 2015—Goodest put on a big finish under jockey Ricardo Moreno to defeat Big Hoss Rollin by one-length in the $27,678 All Canadian Open Derby at Lethbridge Sunday afternoon. Wave Rocker finished a head behind in the show position.

Conditioned by trainer William Leech, the Stel Corona gelding completed the 350 yards in :18.041 seconds to earn a 93 speed index. The $12,455 winner's purse boosted the 3-year-olds earnings mark to $19,228 with a (7) 3-2-1 record.

Charles Stojan owns the gelding out of Plenty Good, by Separatist. Edward C. Allred is the breeder.

Big Hoss Rollin races for owner Deanne Davies and trainer Angelle Carter. The Zillas Spin Doctor gelding dueled throughout under jockey Ramiro Castillo. Sazwan Speed Horses bred the bay in Alberta from the Dashing Val mare Sables Val. He earned $5,536 for the effort.

Kurt Calton saddled Wave Rocker to his third place finish for owner Bugle Hill Farm. Shady Lane Stables bred the Wave Carver filly in Kentucky from the Chicks Beduino mare Sheza Special Chick. Jake Samuels had the riding assignment and picked up $3,321.

Blaines Wagon, Cruisinfourabrusin, Kg Gy, Stella Wave and Glittering Wave completed the field.
