Brad Hart’s Daring N Different Has Fastest Work On March 22

LOS ALAMITOS, CA— MARCH 22, 2015— The busiest morning of 2-year-old gate workouts took place on Saturday, March 21, as 56 freshman sprinters posted 220-yards drills under the watch of Los Alamitos starter Gary Brinson and his crew.

The morning was highlighted by a slew of sizzling workouts headed by Brad Hart’s Daring N Different, who posted the first :12.2 clocking of the season.

Trained by Jose Flores, Daring N Different posted the time after leaving the gate from the outside post. The Utah-bred filly by Valiant Hero is now ready to make her career debut after posting her required second qualifying work of the year.

Daring N Different is out of the Strawfly Special mare Daring Diversion, an allowance winner at Los Alamitos and the third place finisher in the 2004 Los Alamitos Juvenile Invitational Stales, which serves as the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity consolation. Daring Diversion’s mother is Daring Difference, who in 1994 won the Grade 1 Heritage Place Futurity, ran second in the Remington Park Futurity, and was eighth in the All American Futurity.

In addition to Daring N Different, there were 27 other juveniles with clockings of :12.5 or faster on Saturday morning. Among those that posted :12.3 clockings were the Good Reason SA filly Perfectly Reasonable, a half sister to Refrigerator Handicap, Leo Handicap and Eastex Handicap winner Louisiana Senator; and the First Down Dash filly Bac N Style, out of Grade 3 Rocky Mountain Futurity winner Shazooms Doll. The others to post :12.3 clockings were The Walk Thru Fire colt Where Are The Chicks, the Walk Thru Fire fillies Make Up Artist and Coronas Dream, and the Stel Corona filly Stella Corona.

Among those that posted :12.4 clockings were Reese Farms Quarter Horse LLC’s RF Ragstoriches, a colt sired by Ragazzo, and Daring N Different’s workout partner, Deleyco Race Team Corp.’s Kickin Seis. Two others were the Favorite Cartel colt The Charmed Ruler and the Tr Dasher filly High Class Cartel, which worked evenly together in a time of :12.4. Elena Andrade sent The Charmed Ruler from the inside post. Andrade’s sister, Angela Aquino, worked High Class Cartel from the outside post. Ed Allred’s Boylike, a Walk Thru Fire colt out of Feminista, was another of the sharp freshman to work :12.4. Boylike covered the 220 yards from the inside post.

Muller Racing LLC’s Shes A Temptation was one of the freshman to work in :12.5 on Saturday. Sired by First Down Dash and out of A Tempting Chick, the Texas-bred filly is a full sister to champion Tempting Dash and multiple stakes winner A Tempting Dash. Denny Ekins trains Shes A Temptation. Ed Allred’s New Start, a half-brother to Holiday Handicap winner She Forgives and El Primero Del Ano Derby fastest qualifier Forget It, posted a :12.5 drill while facing the aforementioned Boylike from the outside post. New Start’s dam is La Primera Del Ano Derby winner Forgive Him. The Mark Skeen-trained Snitching, a half-brother of multiple Grade 1 winner Snitcher, and Senor Gianni, a colt by Good Reason SA, were among the other runners to work in :12.5. Senor Gianni was posting his second qualifying work.
