HIALEAH, FL—MARCH 3, 2015—Hialeah Park's 2014/2015 closing day was pushed one-day due to cancellation of last Saturday's race card after a severe thunderstorm passed through the Miami area. Four stakes originally set for the weekend were rescheduled to today including the $30,000 South Florida Quarter Horse Invitational for 3-year-olds and the Miami-Dade County Stakes for 3-year-olds and up.
Madmax Scores Easily in South Florida QH Invitational
Madmax broke alertly under jockey Yordanis Amaro then pulled away from runner-up Mr First Down by 1˝ lengths Tuesday afternoon in the $30,000 South Florida Quarter Horse Invitational. Wrs Quick Regards was a neck back in the show position.

Mr First Down, a royally-bred son of leading sire Mr Jess Perry from the First Down Dash mare Le Mishka, picked up $6,000 for second. Also trained by Almanza the Francisco Javier Robles-owed gelding was ridden by Omar Ryes. Luis Gerardo Aguirre is the breeder.
Stakes winner Wrs Quick Regards races for Rancho Los Dos Portrillos, LLC and is trained by Mario Sanchez. Roberto Valero rode the Chicks Regard gelding out of Wrs Quick Sister, by Royal Quick Dash to his third place finish. Bred in Iowa by Williams Racing Stables, Inc., Wrs Quick Regards earned $3,300 to bring his lifetime total to nearly $107,000.
Allazoom, Coronas Dawn and Fly Ta The Prize completed the field. Lebron J and Whattookyousolong were both scratched.
Pryo Gets Stakes Victory in Miami-Dade County
Graded stakes-placed Pyro got his first stakes win Tuesday with a dominating performance in the $27,250 Miami-Dade County Stakes. Ridden by jockey Rodrigo Vallejo, Pyro took over out of the gate then drew-off to win by 2˝ lengths over Wonderboy. If I Were Famous finished a neck back in third place.

A home-bred for owner Kathleen O. Matey, Pyro is out of the Rare Form mare Rare Kayoh. He was bred in Texas.
John Stinebaugh saddled Wonderboy for owner Sunset Well Service, Inc. Luis Guerrero rode the Shazoom gelding out of Grade 1 winner and producer First Place Queen, by First Place Dash. Bred in Oklahoma by Newcomb Cattle Co. and Micah Leslie, Wonderboy earned $5,450 to bring his bankroll to $217,146. As a 3-year-old he was a finalist in the All American Derby(G1) at Ruidoso Downs.
Also trained by Stinebaugh, If I Were Famous races for owner/breeder Dawn Ivey. The graded-stakes-placed One Famous Eagle gelding was ridden by Raul Gutierrez and earned $2,998 for his effort. The Texas-bred is out of Runnin Oner Mind, by Ronas Ryon.
Martinis N Bikinis, First Wear, Cootinks Flying Ace, I Am That Hero and Stricks Cash completed the field. Arbeka Raincloud and Love This Story were scratched.
