Lil Touch Of Dixie Wire-to-Wire Winner of Baxter Andruss Oregon Bred Futurity

PORTLAND MEADOWS—DECEMBER 14, 2014—Lil Touch Of Dixie bounced off a third place effort in the trials to go wire-to-wire by three-quarters of a length over Diva B Gone in the $33,800 Baxter Andruss Oregon Bred Futurity at Portland Meadows Sunday afternoon. Lebron 6 finished a head back in third.

Jockey Kassie Guglielmino, who picked up the mount from Jake Samuels, hustled the Sixthirteen (TB) filly out of the gate and kept her in front over the 400 yard course. Her :22.244 clocking earned a 94 speed index and picked up the winner's purse of $13,560 for owners Jaime Leon and Martiniano Leon.

Juan Leon conditions the David McBride-bred filly out of the Hawkinson mare Lover Cat. Second in the Pot O'Gold Futurity at Sun Downs in May and winner of a futurity at Crooked River in July, Lil Touch Of Dixie's record stands at (6) 4-1-1 with earnings of $24,289.

Also a multiple stakes finalists this season, second place finisher Diva B Gone earned $5,763 for owner/trainer Pablo Madrigal. Michael and Shannon McKay bred the Mighty Invictus filly form the Shazoom mare Go Girl Gone. Jorge Rosales was up.

Lebron 6, winner of the Far West Futurity consolation on November 2, picked up $3,729 for his effort. Also owned-and-trained by Madrigal and bred by McKay's, Lebron 6 is a Jess Zoomin gelding out of Jn Sonoma Rose, by Meter Me Gone. Javier Matias had the riding assignment.

The aforementioned jockey Jake Samuels took off the eventual winner to ride Speed Version who was disqualified for interference and moved from seventh to ninth.

Completing the official order of finish were Chicks R Gone, Hesa A Bugin, Little Blitzen, Cops R Zoomin, Jealous Jess, Speed Version and Silvies.
