Eye Got It Going On Posts Top Time In AQRA Turf Paradise Open Derby Trials

PHOENIX, AZ—NOVEMBER 22, 2014—The lightly raced Eye Got It Going On posted a domineering trial win Saturday afternoon at Turf Paradise to set the top qualifying mark for the AQRA Turf Paradise Open Derby.

The 10 fastest qualifiers, from the two trial races contested, will return to the desert racetrack on Sunday, December 7th and vie for the winner' share of a $15,000-added purse going 400 yards.

Getting his fourth career win in six starts, Eye Got It Going on proved the best under jockey Emilio Tapia as he defeated Heat Warning by ¾ while completing the 400 yards in quick :19.578 seconds to earn a 106 speed index.

Roy Ronquillo conditions the Inseperable gelding for owner Jorge Preciado. Eye Got It Going On, who was making his first start since a sixth place effort in the $51,395 AQRA President's Spring Derby on April 28. Randy McDonald bred Eye Got It Going On in Oklahoma from the Mr Eye Opener mare Eye Am Direct. His record stands at (6) 4-1-0 with earnings of $15,289.

Multiple stakes winner Heat Warning held on for the second fastest time of :19.682 seconds, a 103 speed index. Matthew M. Fales saddled the A Regal Choice homebred for owner/breeders Carolyn and Ralph Fales. The A Regal Choice gelding out, of Its A Dry Heat (TB) by Dixieland Heat (TB), has won seven of 16 career starts and earned more than $65,600. Jorge Bourdieu has the riding call.

Daisy To Go, a stakes-placed daughter of leading sire Separatist, drifted out while driving to win the second trial by ¾ 's in the fourth fastest time of :19.713 seconds, also a 103 speed index. William Harris conditions the brown filly for owners Boyle and Siegel LLC. Donald and Peggy Boyle bred Daisy To Go in Oregon from the Takin On The Cash mare Raining Fresh Daisys. Larry Payne was aboard the four-time winner with earnings of $18,497.
