Go And Get Returns to Win Manuel Lujan Stakes at The Downs

ALBUQUERQUE, NM—SEPTEMBER 1, 2014—Making his first start since a third place effort in the West Texas Derby(G3) last March, Go And Get flew from the gate to defeat stablemate Sa Royal Six Dash by one-length in the $50,000 Manuel Lujan Stakes at The Downs in Albuquerque. Jo Jo Hot Legs finished three-quarters back for third.

Jockey Jose Enriquez rode Go And Get over the 350 yards in a quick :17.232 seconds to earn a career high 101 speed index. The $30,000 winner's purse pushed the Foose gelding's earnings to $73,244. Umberto Belloc conditions the California-bred for owner Alberto Villanueva.

Edward C. Allred bred the five-time winner from the First Down Dash mare First And Proud.

Also saddled by Belloc, Sa Royal Six Dash earned $10,000 for owner Francisco Chavira, after getting bumped hard at the break. L.S. Martinez rode the Quick Invasion gelding out of Sabrinas Sovereign, by Royal Sovereign. Luis Alberto Del Fierro Licon is the bred the gray in Mexico.

Stakes winner Jo Jo Hot Legs showed late interest for owner Orlando Guerrero and trainer Jose Manuel Barron. Manuel Gutierrez rode the Executive Menace gelding out of Casino Mill, by Boone's Mill (TB). Bred in Texas by George Temple, Jo Jo Hot Legs earned $5,000 for his effort.

Ncc Firefly, Stel Surprise, Nifty Fury, Winners Corona, Simply Tapalpa, Bf Storm Chaser and Rp Jets Azoomen completed the field.
