AJAX, ONT—AUGUST 19, 2014—Stakes winner Reckless And Wild got his first win this season on Tuesday in the $55,000-added Ontario Sires Stakes Derby trials at Ajax Downs.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will return to the Ontario racetrack on Tuesday, September 2 to vie for the winner's purse over 350 yards.

Ridden by jockey Cory Spartaro, the Wild Boyz gelding raced over the course in :18.030 seconds to set the top qualifying mark. Trainer David Ward saddled the home bred to his sixth win in 12 starts for owner/breeders Gary and Marlene McNichol. Reckless An Wild is out of the Reckless Dash mare Reckless Wish.

Zoomin On Ice won the first trial in :18.200 seconds to get the third fastest qualifying time. Aron Hunt rode the son of Iced N Oak out of Azooma, by Shazoom. Stephanie Keeble owns the black gelding that bred by John Kelly.
