Eye Kelly Posts Top Time in Oklahoma Horseman's Association Mystery Futurity Trials

CLAREMORE, OK—OCTOBER 28, 2012—Coming off a maiden victory at Fair Meadows in August, James Goodnight's Eye Kelly got her second win Sunday while posting the top qualifying time for the $50,000 Oklahoma Horseman's Association Futurity(RG3) at Will Rogers Downs.

The 10 fastest 2-year-old Oklahoma-breds from the seven trial races on Sunday will return to the Northeastern Oklahoma racetrack on November 10 and vie for the winner's share of the purse while going 350 yards.

Under jockey James Flores, Eye Kelly was a game winner while completing her task in :17.536 seconds, a 98 speed index. Bill Goodnight conditions the Mr Eye Opener filly out of Beam Me Up Kelly, by First Down Kelly. She is 2-1-1 in four starts and has earned $16,288.

The stakes tested Pajarita Sita returned to win column in the second trial to post the second fastest time of :17.594 seconds. After setting the fastest time for the West Texas Futurity(G1) at Sunland Park in March, the Pappasito filly finished third. She then won her trial and qualified for the $600,000 Ruidoso Futurity(G1), finished fifth in the June 9 final.

Ralph Muniz trains the brown miss for Jose G. Badilla, Sr. Oscar Rincon was aboard the MacKie Racing, LLC bred filly out of the Mr Eye Opener mare, Mongoose Jet Eye. She has 3-1-2 record and earnings of $65,890 this season.

The lightly raced Furraway won the first trial in :17.608 seconds, also under Flores. Luis Villafranco trains the homebred daughter of Furrtreeous for Richard Joneson. Out of the Dash Ta Fame mare Kitty Kat Dash, Furraway posted the third fastest clocking while breaking her maiden in her third career start.
