John Stinebaugh and Roman Cruz secure the Lip Chip Trainer and Jockey of the Week Honors at Remington Park.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–MARCH 20, 2024–A riding triple on St. Patrick’s Day along with stakes victories on March 16, helped secure Lip Chip Jockey and Trainer of the Week honors at Remington Park for Roman Cruz and John Stinebaugh respectively.

Jockey Roman Cruz ended the week rolling to the top of the leader board in the jockeys’ standings, winning three races Sunday. He now has nine wins for the season that has conducted eight days of racing. Cruz also picked up a stakes triumph on Saturday, March 16, winning the Grade 2, $55,280 Decketta Stakes on Saturday night riding Alliekat Dynasty.

Ls Jacks Back showed up for the $68,000 Mighty Deck Three Stakes, helping land the Lip Chip weekly training honor for John Stinebaugh. The stakes win against Oklahoma-breds on March 16 was one of three wins on the week for Stinebaugh, who moved into the top 10 of the trainer standings as a result of those successes.

The Lip Chip jockey and trainer of the week will be recognized during the races on Friday, March 22.
